Joey is FAMOUS!

Joey has been very popular the last couple weeks. A couple weeks ago Joey was in our local paper for his challengers baseball league. Then yesterday Joey, his therapist Michelle and I were interviewed regarding drowning. Here are both articles. I want to say I got my 15 minutes of fame, but I think it is actually only maybe 1 minute. Joey just eats up the camera.

NeuroSuit Therapy

NeuroSuit Therapy is an intensive therapy program. You can read more about them by clicking the link above.

Accomplishments: Joey has gained his head and trunk control, learned to sit, crawl, bare weight on his arms and legs. He began talking during NeuroSuit Therapy. He has made more progress during this therapy then any other Physical or Occupational therapy he has done.

Physical and Occupational Therapy

I take Joey to the NAPA Center in Los Angeles 2x/wk, 2 hrs each time. The NAPA Center is also where Joey does his NeuroSuit Therapy. The therapist here are the best. They keep him stretched, loosened and continue teaching him how to work his body.

Tomatis Therapy

This therapy is a listening therapy. Classical music is played at different decipels to train his ear muscles to contract and expand with different sounds.

Accomplisments: He became more grounded, more centered. His eyes focus more and he is much more relaxed. His fime motor skills have also improved.

AIAHP

This is a home program specifically designed for Joey. You can click on the click above to read more about them. This program allows me to work with Joey at home. It compliments the therapy done at the NAPA Center.

Equestrian Therapy

Horse Back Riding. Accomplishments: He has gained incredible trunk control. Click the link for more information.

HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy)

This is an hour session where Joey is put in a chamber that supplies him 100% oxygen under pressure. The oxygen penetrates deep into his major organs which increases blood supply. The link will give you more information on the center I take him to.

Accomplishments: Lessen his tone. He has regained his eyesight somewhat. He also has improved cognitively.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

This is appro. a 20-45 minute therapy. The best way for me to describe it is it is like chiropractic, nothing is being cracked. The doctor is adjusting your body to get the spinal fluid moving freely through the spinal cord to the brain and to unclog any blocks due to the injury.

Stem Cell Therapy

Joey underwent stem cell therapy in China in August 2009. He received 6 injections. 2 IV and 4 Spinal. You can read all about the therapy on Joey's blog or click the title link for information on the company we went through.
